Mark
Mentor
I grew up on a dairy farm in South Auckland, moved to Auckland and studied at MIT. I joined the NZ Police for six years before setting off on my OE. I lived and travelled throughout Asia Europe and North America working in hospitality and construction. Upon returning home I continued my passion for travel and joined Air NZ cabin crew.
The global pandemic has taken but also given, providing new beginnings and
a fresh perspective. I have always felt a strong connection to our young
people and believe I have the life experience and knowledge to help them
succeed.
They face challenges and pressures I never experienced until I was a lot older
and as a mentor this is where I can really support and guide them on their
own unique journeys.
I feel privileged to work with our rangatahi, they teach me something new
everyday, keep me on my toes and we have a lot of laughs and smiles.
I am of Ngapuhi, Ngati Raukawa and Muaupoko descent.
